My sweet little boy, you are three years old already! It's funny to think that we imagined you to be our shy, quiet child who would hide behind my legs as both of your parents did when they were kids. Maybe you've taken cues from your fearless big brother, but I think you've always had a spark that just took a little longer to flare up.
You are a born entertainer. Hand you a guitar (or tennis racket or stick) and you will turn any surface into a stage to perform your favorite songs. You leave us in stitches because your performances are spot-on, but you still have a sweet baby voice. You love to sing about "Roskeeta Bug Bug" (Rosita the Bug), "Blurass a Buppist" (Bluegrass for Breakfast), and "Boakin Dance" (The Boatman's Dance) by your idols, Justin and Joe from the Okee Dokee Brothers.
As I have been dreaming since the moment I found out I was having a second baby, you and Max have become the best of friends! Most days you disappear into your room to play Moon Landing, turn the dining room into a railroad train, or take up your swords to hunt down the "scary stuff" that lurks in the corners of the house. You and your brother have your differences, but it amazes me how much you love each other.
And speaking of love, you have taken on your role of big brother with joy and determination! You love to feed your little sister, you throw away diapers for me, you even make faces at her just to see her smile.
I have loved seeing your personality blossom over the last year. You have made your mark on our family, and I know you'll make your mark on the world. I am so proud to be your mommy!
Happy birthday Louie!!
